Avoiding GMOs

What you can do to eat safe.

How to shop and eat to avoid GMO's in your food.

(Alternately- you may eat them in most any other Country than the US- GMO's are illegal in 27 countries.)


#1- Buy Organic 

especially high risk crops

  • Corn
  • Soy
  • Papaya
  • Sugar Beets
  • Zucchini & Yellow Summer Squash
  • Alfalfa

#2- Avoid canola altogether.

90% of our US crop is GMO and canola grows like a weed meaning it is highly likely the non-gmo will cross contaminate.  Buy a healthier oil.

#3- Check your labels 

and avoid these in processed foods.
They are most likely GMO
  • Amino Acids
  • Aspartame- for a lot of reasons
  • Ascorbic Acid
  • Sodium Ascorbate
  • Vitamin C
  • Citric Acid
  • Sodium Citrate
  • Ethanol
  • Natural & Artificial Flavorings (did you know what these are is not regulated?)
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup- for a lot of reasons
  • Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein
  • Lactic Acid
  • Maltodestrins
  • Molasses
  • Monosodium Glutamate- MSG- for a lot of reasons
  • Sucrose
  • Textured Vegetable Protein TVP
  • Xanthan Gum
  • Vitamins
  • Yeast Products
